Obituary of Michael Sean Walsh

Beloved brother and father.

Staff Sergeant Michael, 70, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Tampa on April 12th, 2024. Michael was a veteran who served in Vietnam, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 13 years.

Michael was born on January 14th, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska to his parents John F. (“Jack”) and Margaret Walsh. When he was in high school, he decided to become a member of ROTC. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and left Omaha for basic training at Camp Pendleton in California. After Infantry Training school, Michael went to Vietnam on Embassy Duty and was also a drill instructor in Beirut. Michael served notably in Vietnam, Parris Island in South Carolina, and Morocco. After serving in the Marine Corps, Michael worked as an IT contractor that took him to several different cities and states.

Michael is survived by his brother Tim Walsh, his sister Casey Peters, his sister Peggy Ethridge, and his daughter Erin Walsh.

There will be a graveside service held for Michael at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on May 17th, 2024 at 12:30 P.M. As Michael’s service is graveside, the family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his honor to organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project to support veterans just like Michael.
